I’ve been in Plymouth for work over a month and I’ve been to a ton of different places and tried their seafood. This place here is amazing. Truly amazing. The scallops and crab cakes were superb. I don’t know a chef can turn fish and chips into a work of art, but it happened. I live over 2 hours away but I’ll be back with family very often. Great food!!

Great, fresh fish & seafood. Lobster bisque was tasty but no lobster pieces, same for the fish chowder - the clam chowder was excellent w/ pieces. 1st two are bought from elsewhere, not sure if latter is made in the resto. Grilled tuna was very good, tho slightly overcooked (should've been more pink centre). Fried clams excellent, same for steamed clams (bit gritty). Baked scallops were very good too. Nothing fancy for dining but we didn't care, just wanted fresh & tasty from the ocean. Dine in or take out. They also have great variety of raw seafood for sale in their market.
I liked this place. It had some hits and misses though. We tried several items on the menu including the fish & chips, clam chowder, onion rings, burger, and hot dog with fries. We LOVED the clam chowder. It was the best chowder we had in New England. The other items were a bit underwhelming. The fish in the fish & chips was sitting in a pool of grease and wasn't very good. All the breading on the fried items wouldn't stick together and just fell off. Everything else was good though, just nothing special beyond the clam chowder. The price was great which is why I am giving it a 4/5 rather than a 3/5. The restaurant has a nice location with great window views but the setup of ordering at the counter before being seated was a bit chaotic in the tiny space for us newbies.
Amazing lobster and fish! The family went to Wood's during a recent stay in Plymouth and it was so good, we went back the very next day. The fried haddock was exceptionally fresh and the girls could not stop raving about the steamed lobster. Only order one onion ring for a side, more than enough for 2-3 people! OLA highly recommended!
After trying Wood's, we never went anywhere else for fried clams. The food couldn't be more fresh. The service is always friendly. There are enough tables and they turn over quickly.
