I have been frequenting New Tokyo for some time now. I live on the cape and this is not the closest hibachi to me, but the pricing on Monday and Tuesday is well worth the drive. I work in a restaurant and I love the service we get here. My favorite part aside from the fillet mignon, chicken, and shrimp with yum yum sauce over my extra rice lol is Sabrina, she is a very good waitress. My mother was in the restaurant industry for 40 years and I put Sabrina on her level. The chefs are fun and the atmosphere feels right. Thanks New Tokyo! Oh yeah I would love to be in your commercial.
Everyone at the place was fantastic! the hibachi was delicious. Some of the best ive ever had. Plus the show was great as well. The alcohol was just as good
I was a regular customer years ago when my kids were young. We enjoyed it until we had a bad experience one evening with the way we were treated while waiting to get seated. We decided not to go back. In the past year we've eaten at New Tokyo a number of times. I stopped by for lunch today and ordered the "vegetable" Bento Box. Unfortunately, the meal included shrimp. I explained I am a vegetarian and did not expect anything but a vegetarian meal. The waitress and manager (?) firmly argued that I got what I ordered. After embarrassing me (2 on 1), they offered to ask the manager to provide a vegetarian alternative. I think we could agree that there was a misunderstanding about the content of this menu item but that was hardly the point. The chef/owner or whomever makes the decisions in the kitchen refused to swap it out for some vegetable tempura. What would it have cost them to deep fry 3 slices of sweet potato, 2 slices of zucchini, and a few string beans? - a lot less than it will cost them when I take my business elsewhere. New Tokyo obviously doesn't value the customer or understand that they have competition. The food is not good enough to overcome the crappy service this time around. For a delicious meal and excellent service I highly recommend Sushi joy, exit 7, at Colony Place.
Great experience. We were seated right away and enjoyed the performance of our talented chef. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was fabulous and fresh.
We have come here and enjoyed it for years. But something changed. They no longer do birthday on Monday or tuesday night(half price night) the portions are way smaller, they now charge for salad and the prices went up. We complained to the waitress about the lack of portions and rudeness of the cook and were told he is the head chef and the owner will do nothing. He yelled at my kids to hold their plates up for him to put food on it. When the bill arrived gratuity was added which is fine but it was on the prediscounted amount. Which I also understand but if you are charged additional for things and are not allowed to celebrate birthdays why tip more. The waitress informed us that the cook gets 12% and she gets 8% so if we did not like him we should tip her more. I talked to owner on way out and she said you ate it so you pay..... We will not be back!!!
